About SkinScan AI:

SkinScan AI is a telemedicine platform that leverages Artificial Intelligence to deliver instant skin condition diagnoses and personalized treatment recommendations. Users can upload images of their skin concerns, and our AI-powered system analyzes these images to provide accurate diagnoses and treatment options while connecting them with board-certified dermatologists for further consultation. Our mission is to make quality dermatological care accessible and convenient for all.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a proficient and motivated DevOps Engineer to join our volunteer team. You will be responsible for setting up, managing, and optimizing the hosting environment on a Virtual Private Server (VPS) and creating a CI/CD pipeline using GitHub Actions. You will collaborate with our development, AI, and security teams to ensure that our platform is robust, scalable, and secure. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a project that is leveraging technology to make a meaningful impact in healthcare.

Key Responsibilities:

- VPS Management: Set up, configure, and maintain the Virtual Private Server (VPS) to host the SkinScan AI platform, ensuring optimal performance and security.

- CI/CD Pipeline: Design and implement a Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipeline using GitHub Actions to automate the testing, building, and deployment of the application.

- Monitoring & Logging: Implement monitoring and logging solutions to track server health, application performance, and security incidents, ensuring quick issue resolution.

- Security: Apply security best practices, including setting up firewalls, managing SSL certificates, and enforcing access controls to protect user data and the platform.

- Automation: Automate server management tasks such as backups, updates, and scaling to enhance efficiency and reliability.

- Collaboration: Work closely with developers, AI engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and deployment of new features and updates.

- Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation for server setup, CI/CD pipelines, and security protocols.

Qualifications:

- Technical Skills:

- Experience with Virtual Private Servers (VPS) and Linux server administration.

- Proficiency in setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.

- Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, etc.) for automating server management and deployment tasks.

- Familiarity with web server technologies (e.g., Nginx, Apache) and database management (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).

- Knowledge of security best practices for server management, including SSL, firewalls, and user authentication.

- Experience:

- Previous experience in a DevOps or server administration role.

- Experience in telemedicine or healthcare-related applications is a bonus but not required.

- Soft Skills:

- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a remote team environment.

- Good communication skills, particularly in documenting technical processes and procedures.

- A passion for using technology to solve real-world problems and improve healthcare access.

What We Offer:

- Experience: Gain hands-on experience in the healthcare tech industry, particularly in AI-driven telemedicine solutions.

- Networking: Opportunity to work with a diverse and talented team of professionals in AI, software development, and healthcare.

- Impact: Be part of a project that has the potential to improve access to dermatological care on a global scale.

- Flexible Hours: Work remotely with flexible hours that accommodate your schedule.

How to Apply:

Interested candidates should send their resume, a brief cover letter explaining their interest in the role, and any relevant portfolio or GitHub links.

Become a part of the SkinScan AI team and help us build a secure, scalable platform that makes a difference in people’s lives worldwide.
