Position Title: Holds Wall Auditor

Supervisor : Violet Rogers-Stultz, Volunteer Coordinator, and Jaime Hutchinson, Circulation Supervisor

Applicant Type: Adult

Minimum requirements:

· Age 18 years or older

· Reliable and punctual

· Strict attention to detail

· Able to sort alphabetically and numerically

· Able to squat, kneel, bend, lift, use step stool, stretch, and handle books repeatedly

· Able to work independently on tasks and follow directions

· Able to communicate with staff in person, by phone, and via email

· Able to read a computer screen

Key Responsibilities:

· Auditing the holds wall and making sure all the materials are alphabetized correctly by the patron's last name and then the first name.

· If time permits and space is available, shelve recently pulled holds into the holds wall.

Training: 1-hour orientation session covering library volunteer expectations, including a tour of the facility, sign-in and badging process, and introduction to staff. Followed by an assessment of alphabetization & numerical ordering and then training on shelving with circulation staff. Then, there are two buddy shifts with an assigned library assistant.

Returning volunteers (out of service longer than 3 months) will require a brief half-hour retraining session with a supervisor.

Location and Time Commitment: 2-hour shift once a week at the Tigard Public Library - Shifts are daily from 11:30 to 1:30 or Noon to 2pm.
