Help provide for the social needs of our hospitalized Veterans. Volunteers are needed at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center to provide one-on-one engagement with inpatient Veterans. Activities Companion Volunteers will check with the ward staff to identify Veterans in need of a social visitor. They greet a Veteran in the inpatient room and could play card games, help with puzzle books, read to the Veteran, or have a nice conversation for a up to 30 minutes during the visit.
Shifts available include weekdays, evenings, or weekends. Initial training shift is weekday, daytime.
A resume is not required but can be submitted before or during the initial new volunteer appointment with CDCE.
