· The event will begin on September 21, 2024, and will be hosted by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Cordell Hull Lake. It will include organizations such as Tennessee Tech University, UC SORBA, and Boy Scouts of America. Participants will convene at Defeated Creek Campground at 8 am before dispersing to the respective work sites. Participants assisting with the trail work on the Periwinkle Hiking Trail will meet at Indian Creek Archery Range Trailhead. The event will have four work projects occurring-Bear Wheels Bike Trail Maintenance and tree planting, Periwinkle Trail Maintenance, a shoreline trash cleanup, and pollinator bed rehabilitation at the visitor center. Upon completion of scheduled work, volunteers will be invited back to Defeated Creek Campground shelter for a meal provided by the nonprofit, Friends of Cordell Hull Lake.
