Memory Catchers- Silverado Hospice Audio/Video Life Review
ORGANIZATION: Silverado Hospice, Los Angeles
Please visit the new page to apply.
We are looking for new volunteers with interviewing and recording/editing skills to help our hospice patients share their life stories. Our goal is to allow patients to leave behind a story, message, or anything else they choose for their families to treasure. Additionally, video recordings can include family members and loved ones, especially when a patient is unable to communicate or share their stories themselves. For example, if a patient is in the late stages of Alzheimer’s and unable to communicate verbally, family and friends can be recorded sharing special stories and memories of that person.
As a volunteer, you would be responsible for recording, editing, and either putting these stories on a DVD or uploading them to YouTube with encryption. Imagine the joy a family member would feel hearing their grandparent’s story in their own words, even after they’ve passed away.
If you’re interested, please email the information below:
- Do you have access to a video recorder, microphone, and editing software?
- Are you able to interview and video record patients and their family members?
- Do you have related experience?
- What part of the city are you available to volunteer in?
- Are you willing to undergo a background check, drug test, and tuberculosis test?
Please reply to this opportunity if you’re interested. We look forward to hearing from you!
