The Perks of Volunteering for Modern Military:

• All volunteer work is fully remote, and you work the hours you want. All our volunteers need is an internet connection and some idea of how many hours per a week they can dedicate to helping us.
• Additionally, all volunteers who are dependable and complete work as assigned will receive:
• Glowing recommendations from Modern Military senior management upon request. These recommendations can be via the volunteer's preferred method, e.g., on LinkedIn, as a letter, as an official reference on job applications, etc.
• Access to exclusive networking opportunities. This might take the form of access to private job boards, email lists, event invitations, etc.
• 1:1 Professional Development This will be based on the volunteer's stated interest and could take the form of: resume review, interview coaching, cover letter editing, or skills training.

What We Need Help With

Currently, we are seeking volunteers to help us with our social media presence on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram.

These volunteers would, with guidance and training from staff:

- Demonstrate or acquire under guidance from Modern Military staff basic cultural competency in LGBTQ+ issues and how they intersect with military service
- Create simple graphics in Canva (we have an account you can use)
- Write blurbs and research hashtags
- Curate news articles using Google Alerts
- Schedule posts to our socials using Loomly
- Interact with our followers on social periodically by liking and commenting
- Monitor accounts we follow and engage in "social listening" for trends, hot topics, etc.
