ORGANIZATION: YORK READY FOR CLIMATE ACTION

Join us in making a difference! YRCA's WindowDressers' Community Build is looking for volunteers of all skill levels! Any necessary training will be provided at the build. There will also be a free meal for volunteers between shifts!

WindowDressers is a volunteer-run nonprofit that brings community volunteers together to improve the warmth and comfort of interior spaces, lower heating costs, and reduce emissions by producing custom-fit, low-cost, insulating window inserts. They do this by having Community Builds, a 5-7 day "pop-up" event, where over 100 volunteers come together to build inserts for their community. It is like an old-fashioned barn-raising for window insulation!

About YORK READY FOR CLIMATE ACTION

Location:

50 BRIXHAM RD, YORK, ME 03909, US

Mission Statement

York Ready for Climate Action is a grassroots citizen’s organization dedicated to increasing awareness of the causes and effects of climate change and advancing environmentally friendly and inclusive policies and behaviors.

Description

YRCA was formed in May of 2018 by a group of York citizens, frustrated by lack of progress on climate, under the name York Ready for 100%. York Eco Homes and Waste Reduction and Diversion (WRAD) became part of the effort. In 2022, under the name York Ready for Climate Action, we became a 501(c)3 nonprofit.

We are a group of passionate volunteers from around the York community, dedicated to increasing awareness about climate change and making urgent reductions in emissions for the benefit of our community and our planet!
