Invasive Plant Removal at Bow Creek Rec. Area - National Public Lands Day (NPLD)
ORGANIZATION: National Park Service
Please visit the new page to apply.
Join us on September 28th to celebrate National Public Lands Day and help us remove harmful invasive plant species at Bow Creek Recreation Area!
Managing invasive plant species is a major priority for the Missouri National Recreational River. At Bow Creek Recreation Area, several invasive species are encroaching on the space and threatening native plant species. Specifically, during this event, we will be focusing on managing thistle and Siberian Elm through hands-on removal with shears. This work will involve walking off-trail through potentially uneven terrain. By volunteering, you can gain experience identifying plants and learn how different non-native plant species can be managed.

When: September 28th, 9am-12pm
What to wear: Wear a long-sleeved shirt, long pants, and sturdy close-toed shoes --preferably boots . A hat is also highly recommended
