The East Orlando Youth Advisory Board (YAB) is dedicated to promoting the safe and healthy development of tweens and teens aged 12 to 18 in East Orlando. Our mission is to create a difference by providing a fun, safe space where youth feel appreciated, loved, and unified. More than just a board, we are a passionate team committed to fostering a supportive environment for our peers. The Teen Lounge offers a safe and vibrant space for teens in East Orlando to be themselves, collaborate, and have fun. Events include a variety of activities such as art sessions, game nights, leadership workshops, and movie nights. We rely on dedicated volunteers to serve as mentors and help make these events successful and meaningful for our teens. Here’s how you can get involved:
- Membership Volunteer: As a Membership Volunteer, you will play a key role in building our teen community. You'll be responsible for recruiting new members, encouraging teens to bring their friends, and spreading the word about our events. Your efforts will help create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere where every teen feels like they belong.
- Food Volunteer: Food is a big part of what makes our events enjoyable! As a Food Volunteer, you’ll assist in planning the meals for each event, ensuring they are teen-friendly. On event days, you’ll help run the food stations, making sure everything runs smoothly and that everyone is well-fed and happy.
- Activities/Entertainment Volunteer: If you’re creative and love planning events, this role is for you! As an Activities/Entertainment Volunteer, you’ll help design and organize engaging activities like art projects, game nights, leadership sessions, and movie screenings. Your input will ensure that each event is fun, dynamic, and memorable for our teens.
- Photo/Video Volunteer: Capture the memories! As a Photo/Video Volunteer, you’ll document our events through photography and videography, helping to preserve the fun and special moments. Your work will be used to promote future events and showcase the vibrant community we’re building together.

L.O.V.E Our Youth, Inc is a 501 (c) (3), nonprofit organization providing programs for youth throughout Central Florida. Our mission is to encourage youth to embrace their self-worth, and value life’s lessons in order to maximize their potential. In addition, L.O.V.E collaborates with community organizations, combining resources to generate a greater impact on the lives of our youth
Description
L.O.V.E. Our Youth has been devoted to serving our local Central Florida families and communities through various programming and community service projects in the areas of college and career readiness, self-empowerment initiatives, health and wellness, and overall improvement and support of livelihood within our community.
We have three main focus areas:
- L.O.V.E. Our Youth- programs and services which directly impact the success and development of youth. We've held self-empowerment conferences for 50 high school teens from low-income neighborhoods, as well as hosted college workshops to educate students about the application process, financial aid services, and college life.
- L.O.V.E. Our Community- removes the barriers through coordinating opportunities for professionals to volunteer as individuals or families, while connecting them with volunteer roles that best aligns with their passion and schedule. Our goal is to consistently give back through volunteering with organizations towards causes we believe in; causes such as Childhood disabilities, Nutrition, Education, etc. L.O.V.E. hopes to increase impact and develop meaningful partnerships within local organizations and serve more causes.
- L.O.V.E. Others- focuses on programs in conjunction with organizations that focuses on youth. We provide support in the areas of volunteers/resources development, project development skills, grant management or event management expertise? Good news! We can help.
