We are looking for a motivated and organized Volunteer Coordinator (Volunteer) to join our team. As the Volunteer Coordinator, you will play a key role in recruiting, organizing, and supporting our volunteers. This is a non-paid volunteer position that offers a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects while developing your leadership and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, onboard, and manage volunteers, ensuring they are effectively integrated into our projects and activities.
  • Coordinate volunteer schedules, assign tasks, and monitor volunteer progress to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Organize regular meetings and communication channels to keep volunteers informed, motivated, and engaged.
  • Develop and maintain volunteer databases, including tracking volunteer hours, skills, and participation.
  • Collaborate with project leads to identify volunteer needs and create job descriptions for new volunteer roles.
  • Provide ongoing support and recognition to volunteers, fostering a positive and collaborative environment.
  • Evaluate volunteer programs, gather feedback, and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Represent CLENT Africa at volunteer recruitment events, conferences, and other outreach activities.

Expected Requirements:

  • Availability to dedicate at least 5 hours per week to volunteering for a minimum of 6 months (flexible hours within your availability).
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate volunteers from diverse backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in Google tools (Docs, Sheets, Presentations) and comfortable working with databases or volunteer management software.
  • Reliable internet access and your own computer/laptop.
  • Experience in volunteer management or coordination is a plus, but not required.

How Does the Volunteer Team Work?

  • Volunteer work is done remotely, and we meet once a week to update on the efforts made.
  • The volunteer should use the remaining hours for their activities, working asynchronously and conducting meetings, organizing documents, etc.
  • Potentially, the volunteer may attend events or meetings with partner organizations to strengthen our volunteer network.

  • If you don't feel comfortable working remotely using digital platforms like Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc.
