Provide individual bereavement, social and emotinal support to Hospice bereaved families and caregivers via telephone calls or in-person visits. Engages in active-listening and companionship in a non-judgemental manner as bereaved work through their grief. Bereavement support can be done virtually as most support provided is via telephone.

The mission of Red Oak Hospice is to provide physical, emotional, social and spiritual support to terminally ill patients, as well as their families and loved ones, while assisting patients and families to live with dignity and comfort as they cope with end-of-life issues. We believe: Hospice affirms life, Hospice recognizes dying as a process and so our care provides comfort rather than cure, Hospice neither hastens nor postpones death, Hospice provides physical, emotional and spiritual care to terminally ill persons and their families, Hospice helps the terminally ill person maintain quality of life and helps family members through an extremely stressful time in their lives.
Description
Red Oak Hospice & Palliative Care was certified by Medicare in 2017 to begin accepting patients. We are a small, local organization looking for volunteers to provide caregiver relief, bereavement support, and companionship. We mainly service the communities in Cumberland & Salem Counties. We are partners with the We Honor Veterans Program.
