Mission Statement

Page One is a charity serving Page County in Virginia. Our humanitarian mission is to provide family assistance to those in our community who find themselves unemployed, sick or for some unforeseen situation, unable to feed their family or meet their financial needs.

Description

Page One began in May of 1977 as a medium for cooperation in meeting human need in Page County, VA. We were incorporated on October 31, 1979 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Our membership consists of member churches in Page County. We run three thrift stores in the county, one in the town of Shenandoah, and two in the town of Luray. The sales from these stores, as well as fundraising, donations, grants, and sponsorships help us to help the needy in the county. We provide food through our food pantries as well as financial assistance for rent, utilities, and various other bills for our clients. We also are able to refer our clients to other organizations that can assist them with other needs. We see clients a few days each week at two locations, one in Luray and one in Shenandoah. Page One has grown from a small, one-site operation to four buildings, including our Family Assistance and Food Pantry Offices in Luray at 35 North Bank Street, which we purchased in October of 2017. Volunteers are the lifeblood of our operation as we have only eight to nine paid employees in our entire operation.
