Position: Marketing and Design Intern
Description: Ecclesia Community Development Corporation seeks a reliable and creative self-starter to assist marketing and design efforts while completing a special project. Working directly under the Director of Program Development and Communications, this internship is an excellent opportunity to build your resume and experience various aspects of non profit communications while working in an energizing, supportive environment.
Daily Responsibilities:
* Adhering to brand standards while producing new graphic items. * Updating and maintaining ECDC’s social media presence. * Assisting in planning, writing and managing weekly newsletter.
* Updating and processing the weekly service bulletin.
* Designing flyers, graphics, and other marketing material for major events hosted by ECDC * Updating the ECDC website when needed.
* Spearhead the development and production of a seasonal newsletter for ECDC that includes stories, event coverage, interviews, and art from its partner, Greater Ecclesia Temple
Qualifications:
* Work within a church or nonprofit environment a plus, familiarity with Christianity is a must.
* Interest in social justice and community relationships.
* Firm grasp of available tools and platforms in social media.
* Completed or working toward a college degree, preferably in a related field (e.g., Graphic Design, English, Marketing/Communications, Nonprofit Management or Public Relations).
* Proficiency in tablet based design programming and Adobe InDesign and Dreamweaver a plus.
* Ability to communicate in an effective and gracious manner when posting content, interacting with church staff and members, and the City of Detroit
* Self-motivated, good organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines
* Ability to attend a minimum of two church services a month to be familiar with our congregation and church culture.
* Enthusiasm for the mission of ECDC and the community we are a part of.
Start Date: Position open until filled, requires a minimum 4 month commitment.
Hours: 8-10 hours/week, preferably twice a week in the office. Up to 4 hours can be completed at home.
Compensation: This is an Unpaid/Volunteer internship. College credit may be available.

Ecclesia Community Development Corporation (ECDC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was founded to empower, develop and elevate seniors, young people, and adults through training to reach their highest potential. The focus of ECDC centers on the ability to re-establish the concept of "it takes a village" to raise a healthy family by instilling the love of Christ through health & wellness, job training, and counseling through the development of 5 major programs and building renovation project. Through the Youth Mentoring, Technical Training, Senior Citizens, Home Repair and Demolition, Housing and Senior Complex and Technical Wing addition, each member of our "family" has an opportunity to grow and expand their horizons.
