About HER Resiliency Center:

HER Resiliency Center is a low-barrier organization dedicated to empowering women survivors aged 18-25. Our mission is to provide support, positive reinforcement, advocacy and the tools needed to support each woman in building a thriving future.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a talented and passionate volunteer photographer to capture the essence of our Inaugural Annual Cookout. This event is a celebration of community, resilience, and the strength of the women we serve. Your photos will be used for promotional materials, social media, and to document this special occasion, helping to tell the story of HER Resiliency Center and the impact of our work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Capture high-quality photos of the event, including candid moments, group shots, and key highlights.

  • Work closely with the event organizers to ensure all important moments are documented.

  • Edit and deliver final images within one week after the event.

  • Ensure that photos are taken in a respectful and sensitive manner, honoring the privacy and dignity of the participants.

  • Follow HER Resiliency Center’s guidelines regarding photography consent and confidentiality.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in photography, particularly event photography.

  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to changing conditions.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with a diverse group of people.

  • Access to your own professional photography equipment (camera, lenses, etc.).

  • Commitment to delivering high-quality edited images within the agreed timeframe.

  • Passion for supporting a meaningful cause and helping to amplify the stories of young women survivors.

HER Resiliency Center (HER) supports all women, and serves young women ages 18-25, regardless of race, class, and background. HER encapsulates a multilateral, holistic, and individualized approach - which is needed when combating systemic barriers that lead to poverty, substance use, homelessness, and sexual exploitation. No two women are identical and HER recognizes recovery, healing, and empowerment is an individualized journey.

Description

HER is a survivor-led nonprofit established in 2015 in Washington, DC, to support vulnerable young women ages 18-25 with the support, skills, and resources they need to make positive decisions and thrive. HER's mission is to support young women overcoming various hardships ranging from aging-out of foster care, homelessness, drug addiction, early pregnancy, sex trafficking, commercial sex work, and other forms of trauma. In 2019, HER Resiliency Center expanded its reach to also include Baltimore City.
