As we continue to expand our impact and reach, we are seeking a dedicated Fundraising Specialist to help support our mission and ensure the continued success of our museum.

Position Overview:

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Fundraising Specialist to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for nonprofit work, excellent writing and communication skills, and experience or interest in fundraising. You will play a crucial role in organizing and managing fundraising efforts to support our museum's programs and initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Fundraising Projects: Develop and manage fundraising campaigns on platforms such as GoFundMe. Create compelling campaigns that resonate with potential donors.
  • Grant Applications: Identify and apply for public and private grants to secure additional funding for the museum.
  • Charitable Outreach: Reach out to organizations and potential donors to solicit charitable contributions and sponsorships.
  • Campaign Strategy: Assist in creating and implementing strategies to enhance fundraising efforts and reach financial goals.

Qualifications:

  • Strong Writing Skills: Ability to craft persuasive and engaging content for fundraising campaigns, grant proposals, and donor communications.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills for outreach and relationship-building with potential donors and organizations.
  • Fundraising Experience: Experience with fundraising platforms, grant writing, or nonprofit development is preferred but not required.
  • Passion for Nonprofits: A genuine interest in supporting museums and cultural institutions through effective fundraising strategies.

The American Society of Military History is the largest military museum and library on this western half of the United States. It was incorporated in Southern California in 1962 as a California Non-profit Educational Organization. We have over 170 exhibits (including tanks, trucks, jeeps, cannons, hummers, and more), a large workshop for fabrication and mechanical repairs, and a library.
