ORGANIZATION: VINEYARD CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP OF AUSTIN TEXAS INC

Austin Vineyard Church is looking for volunteers that either want to learn/know how to grow fruits, vegetables, herbs and/or flowers to support our food pantry run by the Church. Volunteers meet every Monday and Thursday morning, weather permitting. You can come as often as you like and you don't need to stay the whole morning. If you just want to help with the harvest and then leave, that would be a big help.

Our gardens provide fresh, organic produce to the food pantry that serves the surrounding community all year. We have several raised vegetable/herb/flower beds as well as a small orchard with peaches, plums, pears, figs, pomegranates, bananas, blackberries and grapes.

No experience is required, but it does help to enjoy being outside. Here's what you can learn or teach: soil preparation, planting seeds and transplants, pest control, fertilizing, weed control, harvesting, irrigation and composting.
