On the September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance, Americans of all ages and backgrounds are invited to join and lead community service projects to honor the lives and service of those we lost on September 11. Cross divides, differences, and ideologies to serve with neighbors and strangers alike to build important bridges in your communities. At Leopold's Preserve, we'll be working to stain the fences around our parking area and the observation deck at our wetland. Join us at 1:00 PM and stay as long as you'd like. Please "dress for a mess" and wear clothes you don't mind getting ruined. We will be working with wood stain, which permanently discolors fabric.

Our mission is to enrich individuals with knowledge of and involvement with our natural ecological systems, holistic community planning, and respect for local history and culture.
The Foundation owns and manages the White House Farm (Luray, VA) and Leopold's Preserve (Haymarket, VA). Our volunteer program is primarily focused on Leopold's Preserve, a 380-acre nature preserve with more than seven miles of trails. The Preserve is open to the public daily, from dawn until dusk.
