Are you interested in helping reduce falls among older adults?
Join our team and become a certified coach for our evidence based fall prevention program, Matter of Balance!
Coaches will co-lead fall prevention workshops for a small group. You will offer vital information for the participants including ways to prevent a fall, home safety tips, exercise plans, and lead simple exercise which are designed to help improve strength and balance.
A 2 day training consisting of 8 total hours is required. Coaches will be provided materials, a workbook, and lesson plans.
We are especially looking for bilingual coaches who are willing to teach classes in Watsonville, Pajaro, And San Benito Counties.
Who should become a Coach?
- Someone with a passion for working with seniors
- Someone with a flexible schedule and the time to dedicate to the program
- Someone who is confident and comfortable speaking in front of a small group
- Someone with teaching or occupational therapy backgrounds and skills
