Assist Surgery Waiting Room Receptionist with these duties:

Check in family members upon arrival, verifying their case number and explain to them the tracking board and how it works, as well as the process of being updated by the OR / PACU. Make rounds on the hour to the Cath Lab by walking down to holding and reading the board and/or asking one of the nurses. Report findings to the patients’ families. Act as a liaison between the OR, Holding and PACU staff and families of patients undergoing surgery. Relay information to surgery patients' families as needed. Identify family members for physicians. (Please do not called out names). Keep the waiting room and reception area neat and clean. Update magazines, making sure that current ones are available for those in the waiting area. Check restrooms regularly for cleanliness. Report any maintenance or housekeeping issues to Environmental Services.
