Volunteer Sign-Up Deadline: Please sign-up by the end of Sunday, September 22nd, 2024.
Requirements: All volunteers must be at least 12 years of age (by the date of the event). This volunteer role requires being in-person at the event in Santa Ana, CA on Saturday, October 5th, 2024. This role additionally requires English fluency (limited proficiency is okay as long as you are able to understand general instructions), the ability to work outdoors for the entire duration of your shift, and a willingness to work as a team / with others.
Event Description: AASCSC (Asian American Senior Citizens Service Center) is partnering with the City of Santa Ana to host the 3rd annual Mid-Autumn Festival community event at Centennial Park (3000 W Edinger Ave, Santa Ana, CA 92704) on Saturday, October 5th, 2024 from 4-8pm. Volunteers are needed between 2pm-9pm (primarily split into 2 shifts).
This event is free and open to the public! We encourage volunteers to enjoy our event before/after their shift.
Volunteer Role Description: All volunteers will be assigned specific role(s) when they check-in onsite (on the day of the event) and may change role(s) during their shift depending on our needs. Possible volunteer job duties may include engaging with the public (such as passing out flyers or giving information to event attendees), assisting with our performance stage (including backstage), assisting with serving food, and other general tasks as assigned.
Volunteers that speak another language may also be asked to assist with basic translations for event attendees that don't speak English. This is not a requirement, all indivduals may sign-up for "general" slots regardless of their language abilities.
All necessary training will be provided onsite and easily identifiable staff will be present to support you as needed. If you have any accommodation requests, please input it in the "comments" section when you sign-up.

Description
The Asian American Senior Citizens Service Center (AASCSC) is a non-profit organization, based in Orange County, CA (our center is in Santa Ana), that serves all age groups and all community members through an intergenerational approach with a focus on building a stronger and healthier community. AASCSC works closely with other nonprofits and government agencies to promote community health (including social determinants of health), provide direct health services, and to continuously advocate for our community. At the heart of these efforts is our underlying goal to strive for and ensure health equity within our community.
