Associate Membership-Member of another military branch: serving or have honorably served as a member of another branch of the U.S. Military for more than 90 days and that the character of my service has been honorable, and if discharged, I am in receipt of an honorable discharge. Able to provide proof of honorable discharge/service via DD-214 or other ID.

Associate Membership-No prior military experience: Although not qualified for regular membership in the Marine Corps League, espouse the principles and purposes of the Marine Corps League as contained in its CongressionalCharter, and apply to the Detachment be accepted for associate membership in the Marine Corps League. If applying with no prior service, no DD214 is required.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Marine Corps League is to promote the interest and to preserve traditions of the United States Marine Corps; strengthen the fraternity of Marines and their families; serve Marines and FMF Navy Personnel who wear or who have worn the Eagle, Globe and Anchor; and foster the ideals of Americanism and patriotic volunteerism. Associate Members of the Marine Corps League are valued assets to the organization. Their dedication to our Marines and FMF Navy Personnel is outstanding. We appreciate their interest in serving the community to make a positive impact.

Description

Founded by Major General Commandant John A. Legeune in 1923, approved by An Act of the 75th Congress and signed and approved by President Franklin D. Roosevelt on August 4, 1937, the Marine Corps League is the only Marine Corps-related veterans organization chartered by Congress.

Detachment 1022 was awarded its Charter on June 7, 1999.
