Eligibility Requirements for Regular Membership:
Honorable service in excess of 90 days in the United States Marine Corps; or
Honorable service as a U.S. Navy Corpsman who trained with Marine FMF units in excess of 90 days and earned the Marine Corps device or Warfare Device worn on the Service Ribbon authorized for FMF Corpsman; or
Honorable service as a U.S. Navy Chaplain who served with Marine units.
How to Join Williamson County Detachment 1022:
Complete and print the Marine Corps League Application for Membership (fillable or you can print and complete by hand).
Send application to the Detachment Paymaster as listed on the application.
If you are applying for "Regular Membership", please also include a photo copy of your last DD-214, Certificate of Discharge (do not send original copy). (will be returned at time of Initiation Ceremony or shredded upon request)
Do not send cash in the mail.
Make check or money order, in the amount of $40, payable to: MCL Williamson County Det# 1022.
Attend a Detachment meeting (last Wednesday of the every month @ 1900 at VFW Post 8587, 1000 N College St, Georgetown, TX 78626.

Mission Statement
The mission of the Marine Corps League is to promote the interest and to preserve traditions of the United States Marine Corps; strengthen the fraternity of Marines and their families; serve Marines and FMF Navy Personnel who wear or who have worn the Eagle, Globe and Anchor; and foster the ideals of Americanism and patriotic volunteerism. Associate Members of the Marine Corps League are valued assets to the organization. Their dedication to our Marines and FMF Navy Personnel is outstanding. We appreciate their interest in serving the community to make a positive impact.
Description
Founded by Major General Commandant John A. Legeune in 1923, approved by An Act of the 75th Congress and signed and approved by President Franklin D. Roosevelt on August 4, 1937, the Marine Corps League is the only Marine Corps-related veterans organization chartered by Congress.
Detachment 1022 was awarded its Charter on June 7, 1999.
