ORGANIZATION: Affinity Care of Pennsylvania
Please visit the new page to apply.
The door is open...for you to make a difference in someone's life with Affinity Hospice! Consider joining our Hospice team as a Dedicated Companionship Volunteer. You will be providing comfort, kindness and light to patients during their end-of-life journey. To some, you may be their only visitor and friend. Many of these patients have led extraordinary lives, and they want to tell their stories; or sometimes just listen to yours! Join in their journey, for the compassion you will bring, and for the meaning it will bring to you.
Hospice Companionship Volunteers can help patients and their families in a variety of ways:
- Reading to patients, listening to and sharing stories, doing puzzles or playing cards!
- Respite care: Giving at-home caregivers the opportunity to go shopping, visit with friends and relatives, by sitting with the patient while they are away.
- Hospice Volunteers provide a meaningful service and are considered a valuable member of the Hospice team. As a volunteer, you will provide support to individuals with terminal illness and their families. The primary goal being to provide empathy and companionship to both the patient and their loved ones. If you are compassionate, sympathetic, friendly and looking to experience a more purpose-driven life, feel free to email me - Affinity Care Hospice would love to hear from you!
