ORGANIZATION: NXT Art Foundation
Please visit the new page to apply.
Embracing the street and urban environment, LUMINEX 3.0 creates a walkable experience of large-scale artworks. A raw and rare exhibition of artists' voices within architectural sites, LUMINEX reinforces Los Angeles's identity as a global cultural leader.
Why: The event has over 20,000 attendees and it's a community effort that needs about sixty volunteers to create the best experience for attendees. Your presence and volunteer efforts are essential and gratefully appreciated.
Who: LUMINEX makes large-scale public art accessible to all regardless of socioeconomic background, gender, or ethnicity. Pedicabs are all available to assist different abled attendees and ensure that everyone has a participatory experience that suits their needs. Installations at ten different sites encompass brilliant intersections of video, sound, and performance that emotionally and conceptually relate to the public and our urban community.
What to Expect: We want to ensure that all of the guests who come to see the exhibit (many of them new to the area), feel welcomed and get the most out of this amazing experience, which includes:
Navigating from one site to the next
Finding amenities like restrooms and parking
Learning some tips for the night like great food and drink options.
