Light The Night Omaha - September 26, 2024
At The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light The Night we gather as a community to celebrate, honor, and remember those touched by blood cancers. The funds raised by this community fund lifesaving research, advocacy and support for blood cancer patients and their families. Light The Night Omaha will be held on Thursday, September 26th at Stinson Park in Aksarben Village.
We need volunteers to help throughout the day in various roles:
- Pre-event set up (1-4pm): Help set up the LTN Walk event before participants begin to arrive. This includes assisting with overall site sent up, including moving boxes from supply truck to the tents, setting up tables, assembling lanterns, getting linens on tables, and setting up signage.
- During event (4:30-8:30pm): Various roles available including lantern distribution, t-shirt tent, team photos, etc.
- Post-event clean-up (8-10:30pm): Assist LLS staff in breaking down chairs, tables, signage, step & repeats, etc. Load U-Haul and clean up the event area.
Please email Caroline.Barber@lls.org to sign up or visit https://www.volunteerlls.org and search for "Omaha Light The Night Event Day Volunteer" to register as a volunteer.

Mission Statement
The mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
We work tirelessly to find cures and ensure patients can access the lifesaving treatments they need. When someone experiences the fear and uncertainty of a blood cancer diagnosis, we provide hope, compassion, education and support. Our impact is felt beyond blood cancer. The breakthrough treatments we helped advance for blood cancers are now improving the lives of people affected by many types of cancer.
Description
Volunteers are our partners in the crusade to end cancer.
In 2017, LLS volunteers made a significant impact while selflessly dedicating their time and talent to achieve our mission. With countless ways to engage, from fundraising to providing patient support, our volunteers are changing the landscape of cancer.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Nebraska Chapter serves residents who have been touched by one of the blood cancers: leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma. The chapter serves all of Nebraska and Pottawattamie County Iowa.
