The American Red Cross responds to the needs of residents during evacuation orders and needs licensed health care professionals to help residents in our shelters.

Responsibilities:
Provide hands-on care for evacuated individuals and families including, but not limited to, assistance with activities of daily living, wound care, incontinence care, and assistance with functional needs.
Provide health education, health assessments and determine if a higher level of care is needed.
Assist clients with replacing medications, durable medical equipment, or consumable medical supplies.
Advocate for client needs with Disaster Health Services supervisor.
Support maternal and child needs as necessary.
Requirements:
Complete required virtual self-paced training
A current, unencumbered license in at least one of the following professions:
Registered Nurse (RN)
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)*
Paramedic*
Medical Doctor (MD)
Doctor of Osteopathy (DO)
Physician Assistant (PA)
Nurse Practitioner (NP)
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)
Ability to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions in English
Bilingual in Spanish and Vietnamese strongly needed but not necessary (All languages welcome)
18 years of age or older
This role is based in Orange County.
The Red Cross provides access to Relias, which provides continuing education courses for FREE to health and mental health services volunteers. You can utilize these courses to meet your professional CEU requirements.
