Position: Director of People and Culture Operations (Volunteer)

Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL. ( Remote)

Role Overview: EmpowHERto is seeking a motivated and passionate volunteer to join our team as the Director of People and Culture Operations for Fort Lauderdale, FL. location. As a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering young women, we believe that a diverse, inclusive, and supportive culture is essential to achieving our mission. The People & Culture Director will play a key role in shaping our organization's culture and fostering a positive and engaging environment for our volunteers and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Culture Development and Implementation:
    • Develop and implement strategies to foster a positive and inclusive organizational culture.
    • Collaborate with the Executive Director and leadership team to establish and maintain policies and practices that support employee engagement and retention.
    • Onboarding and Training:
    • Develop and implement onboarding and training programs for new volunteers and staff members.
    • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Initiatives:
    • Lead initiatives to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organization.
    • Communication and Collaboration:
    • Act as a liaison between volunteers and staff members to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
    • Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications Director to develop internal communication strategies that keep all volunteers informed and engaged.
    • Conflict Resolution:
    • Facilitate conflict resolution and mediate interpersonal issues as needed.
    • Volunteer Recognition:
    • Develop and manage a volunteer recognition program to acknowledge and celebrate the contributions of our volunteers.

Qualifications:

    • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (such as Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Business Administration) or equivalent experience.
    • Experience:
    • At least 3 years of experience in human resources, people & culture, or organizational development role.
    • Skills:
    • Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders.
    • Knowledge of best practices in diversity, equity, and inclusion.
    • Passion for EmpowHERto’s mission and values.

Commitment: This is a volunteer position that requires a commitment of approximately 5-10 hours per week. The Director of People and Culture Operations will report directly to the President and work closely with other members of the leadership team.
