Foire du Valais Event - "Get Trained Save Lives" Campaign

Event Dates: 27th September - 6th October
Location: Martigny, Switzerland

About the Event:
Foire du Valais is an event that brings together people of all ages and diverse interests. As part of the European Resuscitation Council’s (ERC) ongoing "Get Trained Save Lives" campaign-previously featured during the European Championship in Germany-we will be hosting a CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) stand throughout the event.

Volunteer Role:
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers to assist at our CPR stand. Volunteers will play a critical role in helping us evaluate the effectiveness of our campaign by conducting surveys with participants who engage with our CPR training activities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with participants who have completed CPR training at our booth to conduct a brief, structured survey.
- Accurately record responses and ensure the confidentiality of participant data.
- Encourage event attendees to take part in the survey.

Qualifications:
- Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and converse comfortably with a diverse range of people.
- Languages: Especially French or German, English is a plus.

Time Commitment:
Volunteers are needed for various shifts between the 27th of September and the 6th of October. Flexible hours are available, and volunteers can choose shifts that best suit their availability.

Benefits:
- Experience: Gain valuable experience in public engagement, data collection, and contribute to a meaningful scientific project that could save lives.
- Volunteer package including ERC branding and consumption coupons.

How to Apply:
If you are interested in volunteering and making a difference, please send an email to gtsl@erc.edu with your availability and a brief description of your interest in the role.

Join us in our mission to train more people in lifesaving CPR skills and help us evaluate the impact of our efforts!

Kind regards,

The ERC Team

About European Resuscitation Council

Location:

Emile Vanderveldelaan 35, Niel, Antwerpen 2845, BE

Mission Statement

Since 1989, the European Resuscitation Council (ERC) has provided the standard for resuscitation guidelines and training in Europe and beyond. Comprising 32 National Resuscitation Councils, the ERC's principal activities are science and providing guidelines, training, organizing congresses and creating public awareness.

Description

Science:
The ERC is a member of the International Liaison Committee On Resuscitation (ILCOR), where ERC experts contribute actively to the worldwide Consensus On Science and Treatment Recommendations (CoSTR). The ERC also supports and initiates scientific studies related to resuscitation. Resuscitation is the official journal of the ERC.

Guidelines:
Based on the CoSTR, the ERC publishes European Resuscitation Guidelines that are the standard for resuscitation practice and training in and beyond Europe.

Training:
A network of National Resuscitation Councils, Course Organisers, Course Directors and Instructors provide resuscitation training for lay rescuers and health professionals. The ERC defines the standard for the delivery of high-quality training and certifies providers who successfully complete an ERC course.

Congresses:
State-of-the-art resuscitation science, combined with practical training: meet the international experts at the yearly ERC congress.

Public awareness:
Everyone can resuscitate. The ERC established the annual European Restart a Heart day (16th October) and encourages professionals and the public to receive training and to attempt resuscitation if required.

National representation:
A network of 32 National Resuscitation Councils (NRCs) represents the ERC at the national level. Each NRC oversees the delivery of guidelines, resuscitation training and quality control in its respective country.
