Master of Ceremony for a Fundraising Gala
Organization: Gary Community Partnership ("GCP")
Overview· The GCP ( https://www.garycommunitypartnership.com/) is a social nonprofit organization that aims to change the culture of the community through programs which invest in youth empowerment strategies and environment restoration
· We are looking for a master of ceremony (MC) for our annual fundraising gala, which will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024 from 6:00 PM CT at the:
Dean and Barbara White Community Center
6600 Broadway, Merrillville, IN 46410
· The MC will be responsible for hosting the event, introducing the speakers and performers, engaging the audience, and facilitating the donation process.
Responsibilities· Prepare a script and a timeline for the event in collaboration with the event coordinator and the speakers.
· Arrive at the venue at least two hours before the event to rehearse and check the sound and lighting equipment.
· Deliver a welcoming speech and introduce the mission and vision of the XYZ Foundation.
· Introduce each speaker and performer with enthusiasm and professionalism.
· Interact with the audience and encourage them to participate in the activities and games.
· Announce the fundraising goal and the donation methods.
· Thank the sponsors, donors, volunteers, and staff for their support and contribution.
· Wrap up the event with a closing remark and a call to action.
Qualifications· Must be a high school senior, undergrad or grad student in higher education
o Preferably someone who is aspiring for a career in Public Speaking
· Must have ability to travel to the venue on their own
· Excellent communication and presentation skills.
· Ability to improvise and adapt to different situations.
· Knowledge and passion for serving the community nonprofits.
· Fluent in English.
· [Prefer] Previous experience as an MC for similar events.

Gary Community Partnerships is an exciting new nonprofit organization created in Gary Indiana with advocacy in the areas of Education youth mentoring and community activism. It is our goal to partner with the city of Gary to help support process and programs which may exist however are insufficient to meet the needs of the community.
