ORGANIZATION: American Red Cross - Central Florida & USVI

**Purpose**

This position supports the Regional Disaster Cycle Services (DCS) department. The Sheltering (SH) Service Associate (SA) is a temporary role responsible for working on-site at a Red Cross shelter before, during, and/or after a disaster event. Sheltering Service Associates perform essential tasks to ensure smooth shelter operations and engage with clients to address their needs. They assist with daily shelter activities, which may include roles in reception, registration, feeding, dormitory management, information services, or other shelter areas.

**Responsibilities**

Responsibilities may vary based on assignment but may include:

- Supporting various shelter functions, such as:
- Reception
- Registration
- Dormitory
- Feeding
- Information
- Supply

- Providing excellent customer service to clients.
- Completing required virtual self-paced training (3.5 hours total).
