ORGANIZATION: CAP Tulsa

We are looking for a friendly, caring, and fun volunteer to lead the adult ESL students in conversations. These are Beginner Class English language learners and we need you for five weeks on Thursdays, from 11-11:30 or 10:45-11:15 at the Union Adult Learning Center at 7616 S Garnett Rd, Broken Arrow, OK 74012.

The ESL classes are for the parents and caregivers of CAP Tulsa early childhood education students. The ESL Conversation Club gives participants the opportunity to listen to someone else's English-speaking, learn about different topics and the conversations are in a more relaxed learning place.

To be successful in this role, you will use simple vocabulary, keep facilitator speaking to a minimum, avoid having them write answers to questions, and ask a question, then let them speak. You will divide the participants into smaller groups so that more people can practice speaking, instead of waiting on one person to speak at a time.

Evie Andrews is the ESL Coach for this beginner class and is happy to assist you with selecting a conversation topic for each week.

The dates for the five week conversations are:

Thursday 10/24/2024 11:00am- 11:30am or 10:45am- 11:15am Thursday 10/31/2024 11:00am- 11:30am or 10:45am- 11:15am Thursday 11/7/2024 11:00am- 11:30am or 10:45am- 11:15am Thursday 11/14/2024 11:00am- 11:30am or 10:45am- 11:15am Thursday 11/21/2024 11:00am- 11:30am or 10:45am- 11:15am
