Multimedia Admin Assistant Volunteer

A Free Bird, a 501(C)(3) non-profit based in New York City, is dedicated to helping children diagnosed with cancer explore their artistic passions. We believe that artistic expression plays a crucial role in the healing process, supporting children through art, music, acting, poetry, writing, singing, and other creative mediums.

In this role, you will assist the Multimedia Manager with various multimedia support tasks, including video production, editing, and coordination of instructional broadcasts. You will also help develop presentation materials and perform administrative and clerical functions. This is a fantastic opportunity for those aspiring to learn and manage projects creatively.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Multimedia Manager with project briefs and various multimedia projects.

  • Assist in design layouts, marketing materials, and catalogs.

  • Update and organize multimedia department folders to ensure they are clean and visually appealing.

  • Coordinate and schedule meetings and conferences.

  • Manage and schedule calendars.

  • Record and maintain meeting minutes.

  • Revise content according to stakeholder feedback and data insights whenever necessary.

  • Perform other administrative duties and support the team as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience in multimedia, administration, or a related field.

  • Ability to create compelling and meaningful visual content.

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and social media.

  • Tech-savvy with the ability to use various editing software to design infographics and other visual products.

  • Ability to visualize, conceptualize, and design dynamic images.

  • Experience with illustration, editing, and production is a plus but not required.

  • Proficiency in video editing

  • Familiarity with graphic design.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize as needed.

  • Positive attitude and eagerness to learn.

Additional Information:

This position requires a three-month commitment of at least 5-10 hours per week.

This role is 100% remote. Proper at-home working capabilities include a laptop, phone, and reliable internet connection. Must be available for phone or video conversations at least twice per week.
