Treasured Pets Foundation (TPF) is a registered 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization incorporated in Florida. We are located in the St. Petersburg - Clearwater, FL area. The organization was formed in 2021 for the sole purpose of disrupting and combatting Economic Euthanasia. We are dedicated to empowering pet and companion animal parents with the knowledge and resources needed to enhance and extend the lives of their beloved canine and feline companions. While we’ve made outstanding progress since 2021, Treasured Pets still has scores of work to do. The problem of Economic Euthanasia is enormous, and the solution complex - requiring considerable funds and abundant human resources. Description: We are looking for passionate Content Writers who are self-driven to help drive a best-in-class digital marketing and fundraising program. As Content Writer at Treasured Pets, this is an incredible opportunity to make a huge impact and drive new and repeat donors that facilitate the launch of programs and take them to the next level. You will also be key in communicating our mission, vision, and values to our target audience, journalists, animal advocates, and other essential communicators and communication platforms. The ideal candidate possesses strong writing skills, is an effective communicator, embraces teamwork, and loves animals.
Digital Content Writer Position Summary: As a content writer at Treasured Pets, you will be responsible for style and format consistency across all projects and communicating with other team members to create the best content possible. You'll write key messages and promote a positive image of the company. Day-to-day duties may include writing press releases, and content for our website, social media platforms, newsletters, email, and print media.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Completing writing projects, meeting deadlines, and following content requirements in terms of style and project or program specifications
· Revising content whenever the organization's stakeholders and donors request changes
· Helping create style guides or suggesting changes to ensure content is consistent, clear, and messaging is aligned with our brand image
· Optimizing articles, newsletters, and other messaging for SEO and accessibility
· Writing engaging content for blogs, newsletters, infographics, and other assets
· Identifying gaps in content and recommending new topics
· Editing content to ensure voice, grammar, and style are apt and brand-aligned
· Creating and scheduling posts for multiple social media channels
· Staying up to date on industry trends to support content development
· Distilling complex concepts and language into content that is easily understood
· Working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and consistency in messaging, branding, and style
· Managing and completing work on time for multiple content writing projects
· Working with content strategists to build editorial calendars
Required Skills and Abilities
· Excellent communicator, storyteller, problem solver, and creative and strategic thinker, able to keep track of many moving parts with competing deadlines.
· A team player and people person who builds strong relationships and has the skills to resolve conflict while still maintaining important and effective relationships.
· Proven ability to turn ideas into actionable and measurable plans.
· Ability to give and receive feedback well.
· Track record of working effectively across multiple differences (race, gender, age, language, orientation, urban/rural, etc.).
· Care deeply about animals, more specifically dogs and cats.
· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Education, Qualifications, & Experience
· Proven work experience as a Content Writer, Copywriter, or similar role
· Portfolio of published articles
· Experience performing research using multiple sources
· Familiarity with web publications
· Excellent writing and editing skills in English
· Hands-on experience with Content Management Systems (Squarespace 7.1 preferably)
· Ability to meet deadlines
· Bachelor's in Marketing, English, Journalism, or related field (preferred)

Treasured Pets Foundation is a Florida nonprofit corporation that is currently in the process of acquiring its status as a 501(c)(3) from the IRS. However, according to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), your contributions are treated the same as if you donated to an organization exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(3). Our company does not receive any federal, state, or county funding and no funding from animal welfare organizations, including but not limited to the Humane Society of the United States or ASPCA. We rely solely on donations, grants, bequests, and fundraising events to achieve our goals and further our mission and vision.
We are part of the community whereas individuals and families value animals as enduring precious family members and treat them with the utmost respect and compassion.
With your help, we can create a support system for struggling pet caretakers who face the likelihood of losing their treasured pets and companion animals simply because they cannot afford the essential veterinary care required to save them.
