Being an

Order Taker means directly impacting someone’s life. Our clients depend on this

essential service and we appreciate you stepping up to help those in need.

As

an Order Taker you will be responsible for taking a client’s grocery order.

However, it is not just about ordering groceries. You are also limiting social

isolation in these seniors. All of our clients are homebound with little

interaction to the outside world. You are going to create connections and

friendships with clients that will last.

In order to become an Order Taker you

must:

- Have access to a personal computer with internet

- A

phone you can use while typing

We strongly encourage volunteers to create a Google Voice number to use instead of their personal phone number. Please follow this link to learn more about how to create a Google Voice number:

We do ask volunteers for a 3-month commitment.

If this is not possible, we are actively recruiting for on-call Order Takers.

All Order Taker shifts are done completely remote.

The first step in becoming an Order Taker is you must make an account. Please click this

link to our volunteer website to begin that process.

You will create an account and select 'I am interested in becoming an Order

Taker’. This will prompt you to answer the questions we need to process

your background check (DOB, address, driver’s license number). Background

checks typically take 2-3 days to process. The background check is at no cost

to you.

Once I receive your background check approval, I will contact you with our online

training videos. After you watch the videos, we will call you to go over a few

last-minute questions to place you on your shift.
