Position Overview:

The Marketing and Communications Coordinator will support the marketing and communications team in developing and executing strategies to promote the organization's mission and programs. This role offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit marketing, content creation, and digital communications while contributing to meaningful projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Content Creation and Management:

  • Assist in creating and editing content for various marketing channels, including social media, newsletters, blogs, and the organization’s website.
  • Help develop engaging graphics, videos, and multimedia content to support marketing campaigns and outreach efforts.
  • Support the maintenance and updating of the organization’s website and social media platforms.

Campaign Support:

  • Assist in planning and executing marketing and communications campaigns to promote events, programs, and initiatives.
  • Help develop promotional materials, such as flyers, brochures, and email newsletters.
  • Track and analyze the performance of marketing campaigns and provide insights for improvement.

Community and Media Relations:

  • Support outreach efforts to build relationships with media contacts, community partners, and influencers.
  • Assist in drafting press releases, media advisories, and other communication materials.
  • Monitor media coverage and social media mentions related to the organization.

Event Promotion:

  • Assist in promoting and managing marketing aspects of events, including designing event materials and managing online event listings.
  • Help coordinate logistics for events, such as setting up promotional displays and managing event registrations.

Administrative and Research Support:

  • Provide general administrative support to the marketing and communications team, including organizing files and managing project timelines.
  • Conduct research on industry trends, best practices, and audience preferences to inform marketing strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for detail and creativity.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) and social media platforms.
  • Basic understanding of digital marketing and communication strategies.

Preferred Skills:

  • Previous experience in marketing, communications, or social media management is a plus.
  • Familiarity with content management systems (e.g., WordPress) and email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp).
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices and analytics tools.
