Initiative: Beyond the Basics

Impact area: Basic needs (food, clothing, housing)

Location(s): Hartford

Hours: Flexible hours

Desired level of commitment: To be discussed

Duration: Year-round

Age requirement: 18+

Tasks include:

  • Offering virtual or follow up support calls to Hartford residents
  • Checking-in to see if a person was able to access a community program
  • Helping troubleshoot if the resident experienced challenges
  • Offering to provide ongoing phone or virtual support as needed

In order to volunteer, you should be:

  • A registered UAServe volunteer (you will have a chance to register if you haven't already)
  • Willing to attend an orientation prior to volunteering
  • Willing to submit a background check
  • Open to an ongoing volunteer commitment that works with your schedule
  • Willing to complete 4-6 hours of training (in person or online)
  • Comfortable interacting with the Hartford community
  • Reliable
  • Patient
