The Volunteer Accounting Coordinator reports to the board and coordinates the financial accounting and record keeping for the foundation.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparing financial accounting of donations and grants received in preparation for board meetings
- Assisting in preparing annual budgets
- Assisting with annual foundation filings and reports
- Coordinating with the Board Treasurer and/or the executive/governance committee to:
- determine appropriate funds allocation
- ensure funding/budgets for programs
- prepare donor receipts for signature
- Coordinating with the Fundraising Coordinator to account for and verify expected funds from fundraising events
- Understanding and supporting the foundation's mission, purpose, and policies
- Attending regular board meetings and trainings as required
- Leading and/or attending committee meetings, as needed
- Attending designated fundraising events and initiatives, as necessary
Requirements:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Exhibit excellent communication and writing skills
- Possess real-life experiences beneficial to the communities in which the foundation commits
- Be passionate about community service and philanthropy
- Commit to at least 1 hour of service per month, if necessary
- Commit to at least 2 years as a volunteer
This opportunity may be used for college credit. The role can be performed anywhere within the United States. All candidates must reside within the United States.
NOTE: We cannot support international volunteers or court-appointed community service goals.
