Do you love dogs, cats, and critters? Do you also have a passion for talent acquisition and supporting a mission to raise critical funds for Seattle’s animals that are most in need? If so, we have a position for you!

The Seattle Animal Shelter Foundation is seeking a Recruiting Specialist to help recruit board and committee members and raise awareness of our functioning 501(c)(3) nonprofit. This role will also serve as a Governance Chair and assist their co-chair with policy development and compliance management. The Recruiting Specialistis an integral part of our volunteer Board of Directors. This is an unpaid position with a 3-year term. The position requires an average of 3-5 hours of work weekly and attendance at monthly board meetings and committee meetings. Flexibility to participate in in-person events and meetings is required.

General Responsibilities:

• Manage full-cycle recruitments of both open board and committee positions: Create and advertise job postings, source for prospects, review applications, interview candidates, schedule interviews and document feedback.
• Anticipate, evaluate and make recommendations on hiring needs.
• Lead the governance committee alongside the Governance Co-Chair.
• Support the Governance Co-Chair on policy, compliance, process development and management.
• Assist other SASF committees at virtual or in-person events.

Minimum Qualifications

• Knowledge and experience in full-cycle recruiting and recruiting best practices.
• Ability to prioritize recruitments based on Board needs.
• Passion for animal welfare.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in full-cycle recruiting.
• Access to LinkedIn Recruiter for sourcing.

Board Member Requirements:

• Ability to commit to a 3-year term
• Ability to contribute $1000 annually to SASF through funds or in-kind donations; any solicited/procured items and event ticket sales from one's network can count towards this commitment
• Ability to attend monthly Board meetings held on Wednesdays 5:30-7pm (currently virtual but will likely move back to in-person meetings at the Seattle Animal Shelter) and any additional Committee meetings.
