If you are hoping to join the Board of an arts organization, Acts of Kindness Cabaret might have the perfect opportunity for you! Acts Of Kindness Cabaret is a small non-profit organization with a great big heart. Our mission is to help other nonprofits raise significant funds by offering up our performances as fundraising/donor cultivation events. To date, our performances have helped raised close to $500,000 for a variety of Chicago-area nonprofits.
We are looking for board members who will help us grow our network, connect with nonprofits, cultivate new donors/sponsors and create some spectacular art for a cause! This is a working Board, which meets quarterly at our Wheeling headquarters. Board members are expected to volunteer at some of our performances throughout the year as well as participate in various other projects. We are an informal, but serious-minded group who work together to bring art to the community for a cause!

Mission Statement
Acts Of Kindness Cabaret is a performing arts non-profit fueled by exceptional talent. Believing in the inspiring power of simple kindness and the artistic value of cabaret, it is our mission to help other Chicago-area non-profits raise funds and cultivate donors by providing professional, entertaining cabaret events almost entirely free of charge while, at the same time, increasing the audience for modern cabaret.
Description
We offer 1- and 2-hour professional, family-friendly cabaret shows as benefit events. In addition to the performance itself, we provide sound and lighting equipment, technical staff, set-up crew, ushers, printed programs, and a host of other services along the way. So, we're a little bit like a fundraising event in a box.
We work with each benefiting organization to find a suitable venue and to promote their event, primarily to their supporters. The benefiting organizations sell tickets and, less reimbursing us our nominal expenses, keep all the proceeds.
We fulfill the artistic portion of our mission by fulfilling the philanthropic one, and vice versa. It is simple kindness from us to the non-profit community and those they serve.
