Volunteer for The Polar Express™

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Idealist.org

Recruiting Organization: B&O RAILROAD MUSEUM

About the event: The Polar Express a super fun and festive family event based on the Warner Brother's popular animated children's movie, The Polar Express. It takes place over the last weekend of November and the first three weekends in December. The event includes live performances of scenes from film, a magical holiday train ride, a trip to the North Pole in the museum’s historic Roundhouse, and beloved characters from the movie such as the Hobo and Hero Boy.

What do volunteers do? Volunteers for this event help make it all happen - from the cozy and exciting holiday atmosphere to the warm and friendly visitor assistance. Volunteer roles include greeting guests, assisting with the train boarding, helping operate the lights for the live performance (just a switch, nothing fancy!) and the snow machine, helping with kid’s holiday craft table, and more. Come help make this holiday tradition memorable and magical for families and children. We have two shifts available, a day shift from 9:00 - 4:00 pm, and a night shift from 1:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Not all shifts are available at all days, so please check the schedule at the link below.
