Logistic Assistants supports the Logistics Manager to ensure camp runs smoothly throughout the camp weekend
- Equipment Setup and Maintenance: Assisting with setting up camp facilities, including, cabins, and activity areas, and ensuring that all equipment is in good working order.
Transportation Onloading and Offloading: Provide support with camper bags management -- Offloading when campers arrive, onloading when campers depart.
Inventory Control: Keeping track of inventory levels, ensuring that items are properly stored and accounted for, and conducting regular checks to prevent shortages.
- Event and Activity Support: Helping with the logistics of camp events and activities, including setting up, breaking down, and ensuring all necessary materials and equipment are available.
Communication Liaison: Serving as a point of contact between camp leadership and camp team members
Emergency Preparedness: Ensuring that emergency supplies (e.g., first aid kits, fire extinguishers) are available and accessible, and helping with the logistics of emergency drills and procedures.
Camper and Staff Support: Assisting with the distribution of personal items, lost and found management, and other logistical needs that arise for both campers and staff.
Record Keeping: Maintaining records of supplies and equipment usage to ensure accurate reporting and accountability.
These tasks are essential to keeping the camp running smoothly and ensuring a positive experience for campers and staff alike.

Introducing Camp Good Mourning!, a Huntington, NY-based 501c3 nonprofit organization that provides FREE weekend grief camp programs for Long Island children coping with the death of a parent or sibling.
Camp Good Mourning! takes place in a traditional camp setting with one extra special component - Grief Support Groups. Each support group focuses on a different theme including, but not limited to, sharing one’s grief story, identifying and exploring feelings, identifying healthy as well as unhealthy coping skills, and learning ways to stay connected to loved ones even though they are no longer physically with them.
Camp Good Mourning! takes place at Camp Quinipet on Shelter Island on Long Island, NY.
