For our annual United in Service campaign, The Mission Continues Service Platoons across the country have organized service projects for veterans and local volunteers to come together, make an impact in their community, and honor those who served and sacrificed in the wake of 9/11.

Twenty-three years ago, on September 11th, our nation was forever changed. In remembrance of the lives lost and the spirit of sacrifice shown that day, the Killeen Platoon invites you to join us for a day of service and unity at Families in Crisis. This project is not just about giving back-it's about honoring the ongoing sacrifices made by our Armed Forces and coming together as a community to create something beautiful. We’ll be transforming an outdoor space into a peaceful oasis and renovating the children’s nursery to provide a safe and welcoming environment for those in need. Imagine the joy on a child’s face as they step into a bright, newly refreshed play area, or the sense of peace families will feel in a serene outdoor retreat.

Everyone is welcome! Whether you're a skilled builder, a landscaping enthusiast, or simply eager to lend a hand for a good cause, your presence will make a difference. Be sure to wear clothes that can get dirty and closed-toe shoes. The Mission Continues will be providing free lunch to all volunteers.

Please note that all volunteers are required to complete registration and waiver on The Mission Continues event page before September 14th. To find the TMC event page, copy and paste this url in your browser: https://www.missioncontinues.org/event/details/?id=a1lWP000000dGo5

This is more than just volunteer work-it's a chance to connect with others, reflect on the significance of 9/11, and make a lasting impact in our community. Whether you’re a veteran, a family member, or a dedicated community member, your participation will make a difference. Together, we’ll honor the past by making Killeen stronger, better, and more connected. Don’t miss this opportunity to be part of something truly special!
