Mission Statement
Teatown is an education center and membership organization located on a 1,000-acre nature preserve in the Lower Hudson Valley. Our mission is to inspire our community to lifelong environmental stewardship.
Description
Teatown Lake Reservation, founded in 1963, is a nature preserve and education center in northern Westchester County, NY. Teatown is dedicated to increasing appreciation and understanding of our natural heritage. With this simple statement comes the challenge to use our resources in personnel and collections to instill a sense of stewardship of our environment in the children and adults who visit here. Teatown is dedicated to adding to these collections to achieve its educational goals. With land conservation, we have rededicated ourselves to taking a more proactive role, via easements and acquisition, and collaboration with local and state governments and conservation organizations.
