STEM Canada is a registered not-for-profit global program that specializes in
an advanced, bar-none STEM-based educational curriculum that emphasizes
the interconnected subject areas of science, technology, engineering, and
math (STEM). The STEM program is open to all students from preschool to
high school with the mission to deliver top-notch STEM literacy and
application, designed to teach students in the STEM fields, yielding globally
competitive results.
Are you excited about shaping the future of global education? We’re looking
for enthusiastic volunteers to join our international event planning team for an upcoming Global Education Fair, where we’ll showcase our innovative
Medical Science and Engineering Academy to a diverse audience. This is a
unique opportunity to gain invaluable experience, work alongside industry
experts, and make a significant impact on the educational landscape. By
volunteering for 3 months, you’ll help create an engaging and memorable
experience for attendees while showcasing the transformative potential of
our innovation programming for students ages 7-17. Come be a part of this
exciting project and help us connect with parents, students, and educators
from around the world!
L ocation: Remote
Time commitment - 6 hours/week
Description: As a Volunteer Coordinator for STEM Canada, you will be
responsible for overseeing the volunteer team during the Global Education
Fair. Your role includes managing and training volunteers, assigning specific
tasks and responsibilities, and ensuring that all volunteers are supported and
equipped to perform their roles effectively. Your leadership and
organizational skills will be key in ensuring a smooth and successful event.
Key Responsibilities:
 Oversee a team of volunteers, ensuring they are properly trained,
assigned tasks, and fully prepared for their roles during the event.
 Provide training and support to volunteers, addressing any questions or
concerns they may have and ensuring they understand their
responsibilities.
 Assign specific tasks and responsibilities to volunteers, ensuring that
all roles are covered and that volunteers are working efficiently.
 Monitor volunteer performance and provide feedback as needed to
ensure tasks are completed effectively and on schedule.
 Address and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise among
volunteers promptly and professionally.
 Collaborate with other event coordinators and teams to ensure that
volunteer activities are aligned with overall event goals and schedules. Requirements:
 Strong leadership abilities with experience in managing and motivating
teams of volunteers.
 Excellent organizational skills to coordinate and oversee multiple
volunteers and tasks effectively.
 Prior experience in volunteer management or coordination, with a
strong understanding of best practices in supporting and guiding
volunteers.
 Effective communication skills to interact with volunteers, provide clear
instructions, and address any issues or concerns.
 Ability to address and resolve any challenges or conflicts that arise
among volunteers or within the event operations.
