STEM Canada is a registered not-for-profit global program that specializes in
an advanced, bar-none STEM-based educational curriculum that emphasizes
the interconnected subject areas of science, technology, engineering, and
math (STEM). The STEM program is open to all students from preschool to
high school with the mission to deliver top-notch STEM literacy and
application, designed to teach students in the STEM fields, yielding globally
competitive results. Are you excited about shaping the future of global education? We’re looking
for enthusiastic volunteers to join our international event planning team for
an upcoming Global Education Fair, where we’ll showcase our innovative
Medical Science and Engineering Academy to a diverse audience. This is a
unique opportunity to gain invaluable experience, work alongside industry
experts, and make a significant impact on the educational landscape. By
volunteering for 3 months, you’ll help create an engaging and memorable
experience for attendees while showcasing the transformative potential of
our innovation programming for students ages 7-17. Come be a part of this
exciting project and help us connect with parents, students, and educators
from around the world!
L ocation: Remote
Time commitment - 6 hours/week
Description: As a Logistics and Operations Coordinator for STEM Canada, you
will oversee the logistical aspects of the Global Education Fair. This role
involves managing technical setups, ensuring the event schedule is followed,
and maintaining overall event flow. Your organizational skills and attention to
detail will be crucial in ensuring that every aspect of the event runs smoothly
and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
 Oversee all logistical aspects of the event, including technical setup,
equipment checks, and coordination with the technical team.
 Monitor the event schedule to ensure that all sessions, panel
discussions, and activities start and end on time.
 Manage the overall flow of the event, ensuring that transitions
between sessions and segments are smooth and seamless.
 Ensure that all technical requirements are met, including audio-visual
equipment, internet connectivity, and other event technologies.
 Quickly address and resolve any logistical or technical issues that arise
during the event.  Work closely with event planning, technical, and support teams to
ensure all logistical needs are met and communicate any changes or
issues.
Requirements:
 Strong organizational skills to manage multiple logistical aspects of the
event and ensure smooth operations.
 Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, including managing
technical setups, scheduling, and event flow.
 High attention to detail to ensure that all logistical elements are
handled precisely and efficiently.
 Effective problem-solving skills to address and resolve any issues that
may arise during the event.
 Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with a remote team and
coordinate with various stakeholders.
