STEM Canada is a registered not-for-profit global program that specializes in an
advanced, bar-none STEM-based educational curriculum that emphasizes the
interconnected subject areas of science, technology, engineering, and math
(STEM). The STEM program is open to all students from preschool to high school
with the mission to deliver top-notch STEM literacy and application, designed to
teach students in the STEM fields, yielding globally competitive results.

Time commitment: 6 hours a week
Description: Are you excited about shaping the future of global education? We’re
looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our international event planning team
for an upcoming Global Education Fair, where we’ll showcase our innovative
Medical Science and Engineering Academy's to a diverse audience. This is a
unique opportunity to gain invaluable experience, work alongside industry
experts, and make a significant impact on the educational landscape. By
volunteering for 3 months, you’ll help create an engaging and memorable
experience for attendees while showcasing the transformative potential of our
innovation programming for students ages 7-17. Come be a part of this exciting
project and help us connect with parents, students and educators from around
the world!
Key Responsibilities:
 Supervise the establishment and setup of virtual event platforms, such as
registration, session planning, and interactive functionalities.
 Offer assistance with technical problems for attendees, speakers, and
event planners before and during the event to resolve any concerns that
may come up.
 Provide training sessions for event staff and speakers on effectively
utilizing the virtual platform.
 Keep an eye on the platform for technical issues and address problems
immediately to guarantee a smooth event experience.
 Use different platform features (such as breakout rooms, polls, Q&A) to
improve participant engagement and interaction.
 Gather and assess data on the digital platform to measure event
effectiveness and pinpoint areas for enhancement.
Requirements:  Proven experience as a Virtual Platform Specialist or similar role, with a
strong portfolio of successful virtual platform campaigns.
 Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in
additional languages is a plus.
 Extensive technical expertise in overseeing virtual event platforms like
Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Hopin.
 Knowledge of setting up and configuring virtual events.
 Creative mindset with the ability to think outside the box and develop
innovative strategies.
 Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to
manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
 Passion for STEM education and commitment to promoting STEM literacy
and application.
 Cultural sensitivity and ability to engage with a diverse global audience.
