Grane Hospice is looking for caring and compassionate individuals who want to make a difference in a person's life at the end of their journey. This volunteer opportunity perfect for a busy student as this opporutnity presents a flexible schedule and allows for evening and weekend volunteering. We ask for a weekly commitment for about an hour.
Grane hospice welcomes students from all backgrounds and all levels of interests! We have worked with students studying the human services field to students who are interested in working in finance. This opportunity gives you the experience in working with different people from a variety of backgrounds. Volunteering is a great way to give back, as well as gain valuable experiences you can take with you as you further your education. We also offer our students to shadow our interdisciplinary team which includes nurses, aides, chaplins, social workers, and bereavement counselors.
Volunteers can be involved by providing weekly companionship to hospice patients, making phone calls to our home patients, serving veterans, visits with our bereaved families, utilizing your talents musically, making cards to brighten someone's day or by making knitted or tie blankets to keep them warm. We also have virtual volunteer opportunities.
We provide volunteers with training and ongoing support.
Due to the nature of this volunteer work, potential volunteers must complete a 2 step tuberculosis test and pass a background check and drug test.
