ORGANIZATION: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

Position: The volunteer(s) will be assigned duties to supplement the efforts of the project management team. The scope of duties includes, but is not limited to, fee collection at the entrance station, daily cash-outs, checking the cleanliness of park restrooms and facilities, and litter cleanup between the park and boat ramp. We prefer the work to be completed by a party of two. The Buffumvillle Lake park contains a swim beach, disc golf course, 8 miles of trail, and a boat ramp.

Lodging: Park attendant volunteers are required to live on-site while on their duty days, in a designated site at the park. The volunteers must provide their own fully-operable, self-contained RV or another similar camper unit (one unit per volunteer agreement). The maximum length of the unit cannot exceed 45'. Campsites consist of partial sun/shade, level ground, and are in complete view of the entrance station building and visitor parking area. Designated site utilities and amenities include electric (50 Amp, 120V), full water and sewer connections, picnic table, fire ring, and pedestal grill. Trash and recycling dumpsters are located at the Buffumville Lake office for trash disposal. Wi-Fi is not available at this location. Volunteers must complete 36 hours per week to qualify for free full-RV site hookup. For volunteer pairs, the 36 hours may be split between the party.

Area Highlights: Buffumville Lake is located 5 minutes from I-395, providing direct access to the Worcester metropolitan area and I-90. Enjoy what the area has to offer on your days off.
