Hospice Vigil End-of-Life Volunteers - Chippewa Falls
ORGANIZATION: Lily Home and Hospice
Please visit the new page to apply.
Are you comfortable sitting at a deathbed? Has it been at least one year since someone close to you has died? Do you have time each month to be on-call when someone's death is imminent?
If so, Lily Hospice would love to talk with you. We are building our team of volunteers in our end-of-life/11th hour/vigil program in Eau Claire and surrounding areas. This is a flexible position, with no set hours.
This is a perfect opportunity for anyone who is compassionate, calm, and comfortable with the dying process. When a patient has moved to end stages of life, and they are no longer conscious, we will call upon our vigil volunteers to stay with the patient and possibly the patient's loved ones. Volunteers will work in shifts, according their own ability and availability.
We will provide training, supervision and guidance. Every member of our Lily Hospice staff team loves and appreciates volunteers. We will support you along the way.
Our commitment to you:
- A flexible schedule at locations convenient for you,
- initial and ongoing training,
- support from our hospice staff team, and
- ongoing guidance and education.
If you have questions about the Lily Hospice vigil volunteering or other volunteer opportunities, contact Dawn, Volunteer Coordinator at 715-492-2633 or dbriskey@lilyhospice.net.

Mission Statement
Our mission at Lily Home and Hospice is to treat the whole person - mind, body & spirit - by providing compassionate, person-centered care to those in the final stages of an advanced illness. We strive to meet each individual's specific needs throughout their end of life journey. We involve family and caregivers to make the experience more inclusive rather than isolated; and we emphasize quality of life instead of the duration. It is our belief that each person deserves a peaceful, comfortable and dignified transition.
