Mission Statement

The Mission of the Young Women's Resource Center is to embrace and inspire young women to become strong, self-confident and successful. The Vision of the Young Women's Resource Center is that in our community, young women realize their full potential.

Description

The Young Women's Resource Center serves girls and young women through three main programs: Counseling, Empowerment, and Young Moms. Programming includes groups, individual counseling, special participant events, and in-school and after-school programs.

Founded in 1978, this non-profit agency provides services to all young women ages 10-24 in central Iowa. Founder Louise Rosenfield Noun and other community leaders believed young women needed a safe place to receive support, education, and advocacy. A wide variety of services surrounding perinatal services and prevention services are provided in schools, community organizations, and at the YWRC.
